📸 Photography in Montreux & Vevey
Last weekend, I escaped to the Swiss Riviera for a short but unforgettable getaway in Montreux and Vevey. It was the perfect opportunity to test my new Fujifilm X-T50.

Montreux, je vais retourner.
I won’t be the first to say it: I love the promenade of Montreux.
The water.
The mountains.
The benches.
The art.
And maybe it’s even better when the sun doesn’t try too hard. On a slightly grey day, when the light is soft and the crowds are thin, Montreux breathes differently. Slower. More intimate. You can hear the water. You can take your time. You can sit and simply exist.
The presence of the Montreux Jazz Festival is everywhere. In the sculptures. In the paintings. In the cafés and shops. It feels woven into the identity of the place.
I’ve never even been to the festival.
But I probably will and should.
You walk along the promenade and suddenly you meet Freddie Mercury, forever looking at the lake. A few steps later, the spirit of Claude Nobs. Liberal icons. Creative souls.
Their presence in Montreux made me feel unexpectedly at home — as a gay person, yes, but also simply as someone who believes in openness, art, and self-expression.
And then there is Vevey.
Its old town is even more charming — narrower streets, softer colors, details that reward those who look closely. You have to take the small paths. The side streets. The stairs that seem to lead nowhere but suddenly open into a hidden square.
Vevey doesn’t perform for you.
It lets you discover it.
This weekend, walking between water and mountains, between music and silence, I felt grounded. Inspired. Calm.
Montreux, je vais retourner.
